Search Engine Optimization Fact #1

Filed Under Code, Marketing, SEO |

Search engine optimization - can I do it once and forget about it?

NO! Search engine optimization isn’t a one time fix.

The search algorithms are constantly being tweaked or, even more frightening, being totally revamped on a regular basis.

Yes. You can get some mileage from a one time optimization. By the time you find out the algorithms have changed and left you out in the dark it will take weeks to get back into the light of the search listings.

Keeping up with search engine optimization techniques takes a constant effort. You need to read, read, read some more. By reading I don’t mean just articles. Read search results and figure out why certain sites are listed at the top of the search and others are not. (read the code… wink) Practice the techniques you have read about. Try out some variations you have come up with. Now they belong to you. Take your techniques you have proved to work and apply them to your site/s.

Just because something works doesn’t mean it will always work. It doesn’t mean it won’t either. You won’t know unless you READ, read every thing and test everything.
